Tony Godfrey E.V.A.

Born a Gemini in Buckinghamshire, Tony studied biochemistry at the University of Wales, Bangor, and worked as an industrial biochemist in many and varied locations around the world, and has lived near Abergavenny for more than 24 years.

Painting and creative crafts have been an important interest throughout his life and, as his working-life slowed, he was able to return to study painting with several different tutors, gaining knowledge of techniques, and considerable encouragement.

He paints in a realistic style, preferring watercolour and acrylics, and likes to interpret scenes of people at work or leisure, and locations that may soon be changed or lost by modern developments. Recording local landscapes and landmarks also features in his choice of subjects.

His paintings can be found in Museums and Industrial Offices as well as in private collections. In addition to works in this exhibition, selected examples of his work can be found on the EVA website.

Tony accepts commissions and also can provide limited edition prints of many of his paintings.
